Taking Scott's cue and going to Gilbert River at about 10 this morning. Anybody else is welcome!

Went out, came back. Dang its a long way to the Gilbert Ramp! (I usually put in right above Coon Island) Too cold and windy (What a wuss! :sad2:). Saw GBS coming out as I was going in and again in Fisherman's Marine. Nice to chat for a minute. There were a couple of nice multi-kayak trailers at the ramp. I'll post some pics of them later. I talked with a stinkpot owner who was coming in and he said he saw 3 or 4 caught but he had not scored. We agreed that it'd be a lot more crowded after Sunday. Guess I'll bundle up and see y'all tomorrow at Hagg!

Hey Wali, I realize this is an old post, but I was wondering what you can tell me about your put in above Coon Island.  Is that on the mainland or Sauvie Island.  I'd like to find a quicker way out there if possible.

On the island. Google Earth says its 10.8 miles from the store just on the other side of the bridge. Just stay on the road on your left. 2 miles before the launch is a gate that is closed seasonally (not sure when that is).
On the mainland side across the Channel from the island launch, is a private marina on E Honeyman Rd. I have not tried, but they might be amenable to launching and should have "safe" parking as well. I think there may be a small store there too, but again, I have not tried it.
Both launches should be about 30 minutes from PSU.
