Hello everyone! New to the site and have been Kayak fishing south west Washington for the last year. Mainly lakes and a couple times on the Columbia river above Bonneville Dam. Great fishing but would like to do some salt water fishing as well. Being relatively new to Kayak fishing I was wondering if there is any advice for salt water water kayak fishing? Or places to check out. Would also like to meet up with other Kayak anglers and head out and do some fishin. (Most my buddies go from shore and do not care for fishing out of a plastic boat. lol.)

Well, this is the place if you want advice about ocean fishing in a kayak.  You can learn about deciding when to go and when not to, what to wear to be safe, and the part I like best: learning from other's mistakes (since I don't seem to learn from my own).

Start with the "For Safety's Sake" board, and "Drillin's & Cuttin'" will help you if you haven't rigged up for saltwater trips.  Keep and eye on "Let's Talk Kayak Fishing" to see who may be going out in your area.

And ask questions.  You'll get lots of answers and advice.  No malarkey, just fact.

Welcome.
The fish bite twice a day - just before we get here and right after we leave.

If you got , or want to get an Oregon license and travel to Tillamook Bay Saturday I’ll be fishing the bay for rock fish and dropping a couple of crab traps as well. Immersion gear required! Wetsuit or dry suit

Thanks for the invite but I will have to decline. Headed to Merwin Reservoir Saturday to chase Kokanee with my Uncle. Also I have a dry suit on order. Should show up tail end of March. ITS taking FOREVER!
