Went today just because best day for some time to come. Lots of surge, murky churn water. Managed one 34" a 24" and some small underlings, one small black.  The blacks were in the surge way to close for comfort for me.  Royg.

Nice fish BT!  I got to get down there and try Sunset Bay sometime.  Looks like fun!

34" & 24" what? I'm guessing you meant ling right? the ling in the pic looks to be pretty good size. Good on ya for getting out there. Looks like fun!

The ling in that picture is at least 34" and the nicest kayak ling I've seen off the Oregon coast so far.    Very nice and I kind of like the boca grip over the leg shoot.

Good going Roy, I would have loved to make it down if I hadn't had to take my wife to Eugene for a Dr. appointment. I had a feel that the bay was fishable, and you proved it. Nice fish!

Sorry guys,,  Tired i guess. Yes 34" @ 24" lings. Leg and ling shot was best of two,,, cell phone camera and  a boiler next to me makes for quick shots!!              The lings are moveing in shallow now,still firm and flakey meat for a while.   royg

That's a big ling! Are you gonna try it at Sunset this weekend after T-day? I might try this friday, or wind up watching from the shore if the water's too big & rough. Maybe head up to Yaquina Head on Sat. if conditions allow.

PNW.. Would like to, but have to set the crab gear.. Swell is west @ 11' to 12" no wind but Sunset Bay would be pumping !!!  Good to hear from you!    ps. Got the biger ling out of Goldendogs spot!!     royg.
