Some shameless promotion.  I filmed an episode with Angler's West TV last year.  It just ran on Comcast Sports over the weekend.  If you missed it, here's a link.  Perhaps a few tactics for those of you looking to target cutthroat trout

I also filmed another one Omak Lake that is being edited.  Thanks for watching!

I dusted off my reel with lead core after seeing this...
Relax. You'll live longer.

Nice!  I didn't see this post until just now, I happen to record that show on my DVR and just watched that episode yesterday.  I was writing down notes on what I'd have to get as I've never done lead core trolling before, started digging through my rods and reels to see if I had anything reasonable to load up with lead core to give it a shot.  I've been wanting to get out on Samammish to give it a try.

I goofed explaining the set up. I use 18 lb lead core line and 50 FEET of 10-12 lb mono leader (not lbs..).  If any of you are coming out to the Northwest Paddling Festival on Friday or Saturday, swing by. I'll be working the RAM Mounts Booth and will have a couple set ups there along with my rigged kayaks.

Will see you there for sure. Looking forward to a good day out there. Should have my revo home by then. Playing with the hook2 while watching tv at night.  My wife thinks it’s quite funny when I mentioned the floor is two feet deep from the arm of my chair, lol.

I dug out my old baitcaster and realized it is not big enough to hold the lead core line.  Brad, I saw you mentioned on the Hobie Leadcore Line tactics page that you use an Abu Garcia Ambassadeur C3, which size?  The 5500 or the 6500 and how many colors can you get on it?  I've got the normal sized (not the extra thin) 18lb Tuff Line.

Was also poking around a bit and saw some used Penn 209's, would they be big enough?

Thanks,
Kevin
