Hello all
I have recently outfitted a tarpon 120. I have been out on sound and a few lakes so far but am pretty new to kayak fishing. I am really trying to find some people to hit the water with. I have just recently purchased a drysuit also so willing to go anywhere to fish. I live in tacoma area but will travel to any area to fish.

Welcome to the forum, Sticknreel.  I’m sure some other South-Sound folks are out there.  Maybe just in hybernation for awhile.

Welcome.  I'm also in the Tacoma area.  I'll launch out of Owens Beach and Gig Harbor a lot and will go up to Neah Bay and Sekiu during the summers.  Haven't had a chance to try the lakes yet.  Hope to see you out there!
The guys at Gig Harbor Kayak are a good source.
The Sportsman's show next month has an entire stage for kayak fishing which is cool!  That will attract a lot of guys too.

Welcome to the forum.  I am just south of you, in Fort Lewis, and have been fishing Point Defiance every now and then.  Usually only find myself as the sole kayaker out there with the power boats so it would be refreshing to find fellow kayakers.  You are welcomed to join any time.  I'll be out there tomorrow afternoon, in a Hobie Revo 13, jigging the area with Point Wilson and Crippled Herring for Blackmouth.  The launch area is Owen Beach as Rockbottom has mentioned.  It is easily accessible and short pedal distance to fishing area.  I target Blackmouths and have been pretty successful with several keepers and many sub legal fish released.  Last time I was out was on Friday and I jigged up this 23" in the photo along with 4 sand dabs.  By 01 Jan, other areas will open for Blackmouth and will look to venture out to those areas.

Also in the JBLM area and always interested in yak-fishing. Mostly fish the waters of south and central puget sound, but have fished from Columbia to Neah also. Haven't chased blackmouth before, but would be willing to give it a go if others are interested in heading out over the new year holiday or later.

Volunteering at Heroes On the Water events is a good way for you new to the area folks to meet some locals that rarely skunk and to check out some new fisheries. Send Islandson671 a pm for more info on events up near JBLM.
