I recieved my order from B&H photo on wednesday as they projected (ordered on monday and only paid 6.99 i think it was for 2 day shipping) No complaints about there service...

When i first opened the box i was happy that all the proper components were there (i was scared of the internet scam)  I popped the battery into the charger while i started on the directions...150 minute maximum for a full charge is specified in the manual but mine took about 2 hours.  Popped the battery in the camera and turned it on...The camera was bigger than i expected for some reason...but still very small compared to all the digis i have owned...snapped a few pictures (it was dark and the room only had one light on)  popped the sd card in the computer to check out a full size image...my first impression is that the low light situations on the automatic settings do not turn out very good pictures...very grainy...but i had read in reviews that this cameras indoor pictures were sub-par to an equivalent non-waterproof camera...but hey i didn't buy it to take pictures inside :)
took it outside today to test it out in better lighting...now i still don't think it is as good of quality pictures (at least in auto mode) as an equivalent priced non-waterproof camera...but i still got quite a few good pictures...i realy don't like the auto mode so far so i am learning the manual functions...no manual shutter speed control is kinda a downer i guess...accept i still dont' really know how to use them yet but im sure i will wish i had it in the future...but overall it seems to take descent pictures especially for the reason i will use it....i wanted a waterproof camera for the kayak and thats what i got...i think out on the water in fairly well lit conditions the auto function will prove to be a hassle free way to get a good picture...in low incadescent light i will use the manual functions...only major con i have seen so far is battery life is rather short so plan on getting a couple extra batteries...

hopefully i can get some pictures up of fish later :)

unfortunately i don't think i am going to be able to get down to yakonthefly's neck of the woods to do fishing for reds because he had to go out of town and our schedules just haven't been meshing up correctly...he gave me the number to a fella named james for me to call which i did...and he was willing to take me out saturday but he said he had family in town from out of the country i think so i figured i would just let him stay with them (plus he is recovering from a shoulder injury)

but my sister and i are still gonna get her 2 kayaks out on the swamp tommorrow (probably won't fish because i don't have a fishing license and the kayaks are 9 foot river kayaks)
so i should get some good pics from that

ill try and do a better review when i actually learn how to use the camera properly
