Hey all!

My name is Tim. And I have a problem! I recently fell in love with kayak fishing and now my co workers and friends, even some of my family, make fun of my new "tupperware" my first kayak - an ocean kayak prowler 13. I suppose it is humorous in some ways  ;D they can make fun all they want but it is still fun to me.

I toyed with the idea of getting setup for fishing out of PC for several years before finally commiting to it,  I had a buddy in high school that did it all the time and seemed to have a blast, he was the reason I'd Originally started thinking about it, now that I've done it I don't know what took me all these years! After I got my setup last fall I couldn't believe how peaceful it was fishing for fall Chinook in Trask tidewater on my maiden (test) voyage. Waters I've fished for years out of my Smokercraft felt entirely different fishing from my yak.

I've had about half a dozen trips out of PC now and have learned so much about the ocean and surf launching. I was no stranger to ocean fishing before but definitely have a newfound respect for it after my first few experiences. I know I'll be doing this for a long time, hoping I get some chances for Silvers and Chinook and halibut later in the year out on the big blue! And I'm already thinking about my next, hopefully pedal driven kayak after I wear my Ocean Kayak out.   ;)

I was pointed to this forum from somone I met at PC a few weeks ago so I figured I'd make a profile and try to make some new friends.  There is so much good advice on here!

Welcome to the forum. As you have already experienced, kayak fishing is an awesome way to get on the water.

We have a cabin near Tillamook and try to get over to fish the area often.  Watch for people posting fishing trips in the area.  It is a great way to meet people.
The two best times to fish is when it’s raining and when it ain’t. -Patrick McManus

Being retired, they pay me when I go fishing, therefore I am kind of a professional fisherman.
