OK I have a stupid question for you guys. When connecting a fish finder straight to the battery, the in-line fuse goes in between the positive cable and the positive post on the battery?
Enjoy the ride!

Honestly, I've never used the fuse.  And I've never had a problem.  Hmmm ... I probably just jinxed myself.

You could use it to be safe, but it's mainly for boats with full size batteries and charging systems. The Voltage Regulator could gak and the finder would get zapped. You should be ok without it. I didn't use mine either.

It goes on the positive side
See ya on the water..

fuses are typically put in place not to protect the load but to protect the wire....its not a bad idea to put the fuse in there....if nothing else to prevent a direct short from the positive to negative terminal on the battery...which could end up badly....put the fuse as close to the positive terminal as possible

I've always used a fuse because it was there and came with my FF.  Speaking of fish finders, check out this coupon link for the Fisherman's Marine & Outdoor Preferred Customer Club.  Some of you may already get this email flier yourselves, but for those looking to buy a FF/gps, enjoy.  If I didn't already have one, it would be hard to resist.
