A bad day to go kayak fishing on Glacial Lake Missoula

It was a breezy day in Missoula.  I hiked up the south ridge of Mount Sentinel, which lies on the east side of Missoula, and on the south summit I measured wind speeds in the 40s with gusts into the low 50s.  Down by the Glacial Lake Missoula boat ramp, which is located about 800 feet above the Missoula valley, I measured wind speeds in the 30s with gusts into the low 40s. So it would have been a tough day to go kayak fishing on Glacial Lake Missoula.

But just think of the EPIC float trip you could’ve had from there all the way to the Pacific!

Could have kite boarded or rigged a sail for a few speed runs.......
