Thinking about going to Newport tomorrow to try and get some herring if anyone wants to meet up. I've never fished for herring there before, so don't expect me to teach you anything  ;D Keeping an eye on the wind. If it looks bad, I might bail and go to Detroit to try and get some kokanee. Incoming tide is about from 11am to 5pm which is what I a was planning on fishing.

I've been catching the spawner herring near the seawall along the commercial docks (Port Dock 5 and the fuel dock).  There's the boat club house and Englund's Marine private dock that also have some herring balls swimming around.  Hope you find some schools and load up on bait.  I was thinking the spawn was over since I didn't do very well earlier in the week.  Good Luck.
