Have any of you guys ever done any crabbing off your kayak at sunset bay? If so where did you drop your pots, and did you do any good? I bought a collapsible pot the other day and am hoping to drop it for the first time on Friday.

Merlin,

I have never crabbed at Sunset but, I guy told me he does from his boat.  This guy said he drops them somewhere as you head out in a sandy area.  He talked like it was not to far out.  He did say he usually catches red rocks for the most part.

Well Reds are not my favorite, but I will take what I can get I guess.

On a side note coastal, do you know a guy named Travis? I have been trying to get him out kayak fishing and I think between the two of us we might be able to recruit another south coast yakker.
Enjoy the ride!

Ya, I know Travis.  Probably for the last 20+ years.  He did express his intrest in kayak fishing sunset this summer.  He's almost their.  I told him I have to put a fishing pole holder in my frenzy and then he's set.

Tell him to sell a horse and ride a kayak, or sell a canoe.

Yeah I was hoping I could get him out for a test run this week, but he weaseled out of it. I am going to try again next week. I am sure he will be hooked just like the rest of us as soon as he gets out there and catches a fish.

PNW, Yup we will see you Friday. I will probably be there around 0830
Enjoy the ride!
