Loaded for fishing and with a 0.1 minus tide launching around 0800 grabbing some clams on the way out (little less water to wade through) then drop some crab traps and fish for a bit.

Good day out there today.
Limited out on cockle clams, got one crab on my first time crabbing, got my first (two) black rockfish, and got my first lingcod.

How big are those cockle clams once they are shucked?  How do you "clean" them??  And lastly, what recipe do you use for cooking them?  Looks like you had FUN.

My cleaned limit came in around a pound of chopped clam. I’m gonna try chowder. Google “grants getaways stuffed cockles”. Those look pretty tasty too

Mojo, I look forward to getting out at PC, Depoe, wherever I can cut my teeth on a relatively calm weekend day.

bb2fish, Here’s a pic of a couple clams from my haul. I’ve got some that are smaller and some that are larger, but most will be around this size. I didn’t get a picture of the meat but they can be a handful.
