Yeah I could make it a twofer this week as long as it was a fairly local lake. Or how about pile perch at the pilings by the empire docks. Are pile perch biting this time of year?
Enjoy the ride!

How local?

I was thinking maybe Garrison Lake in Port Orford or one of the lakes between Reedsport and Florence, but I'm flexible.

Not sure about the pile perch, Paul and I tried a little a few weeks ago at Charleston and had no luck. I did have a couple bites. We could try it if you want.

I'm thinking tomorrow?

I was thinking that the perch might be in considering we have had very little rain over the last two weeks......but I have very limited knowledge of perch so I might be way off.
Have you ever fished elbow lake or carter lake? I have caught some nice trout in Elbow lake and though I've never fished it, I have seen some nice trout pulled out of Carter.
Enjoy the ride!

I don't know about Coos Bay, but down in Bodega Harbor (CA), the pile perch come in to some of the docks at the marina in April to spawn.  Catching them can be tricky, but they are there in big numbers.
My guess is that Coos Bay is going to be a full month behind Bodega Harbor in timing.

I'm not sure where they go when they aren't getting ready to spawn.  I suppose they're just out deep.
