Navionics card renew? Need advice

Hey All,

Navionics has let me know that my GPS card subscription expires today, and is encouraging me to buy a new card with a discount from $149 to $99.

Questions: do I need to get a new one to have the same functionality as previously? My FF is a Lowrance Hook2 5, and the Navionics bit I got last year was for the West. What am I missing out in if I don’t re-up?

I think that just means you can't update your maps.  You should be able to keep what you already have on the card, but any updates via charts or sonar mapping will not be available to you.

Just map updates, which honestly don't happen that often. You won't lose anything you currently have. I would update the card today (make sure to eject the usb properly - these cards corrupt super easy) and let it expire. Also the update software looks like it gets stuck at like 63% a lot - do not remove the card until it's finished! I've had that $99 offer on a card for 5 years now so the offer doesn't seem to go away if you change your mind.

Thanks guys, that’s good to hear. That was my guess but as I came to the FF game pretty late I wasn’t sure. Appreciate the advice and happy to keep the $ (or more accurately have it to spend on smth else)!
