Drove over with friend Rob, took the 0600 ferry from Vashon to Southworth, and got to Hansville about 07:30.  Took too long to get the boats ready and launched it was foggy all the way up there, but not too bad at PNP park---Scatchet Head and Foulweather BLuff were visible, as was Possession Point/Useless Bay (great place names, you bet!).  The  water temp was 46, and the air about 40, so we were bundled with wet suit bibs and paddle jackets, gloves, etc...but our feet stayed uncomfortably cold.
Unfortunately, I had not consulted the tide guide, the low was at 8:30 and PNP is fished on the ebb, so we unjoyed nothing but a big flounder and one rockfish. The sun finally came out around noon. Pedalled against the tide for 5 hours, and slunk home, beaten men.  But we had a little pod (3) of those pretty lil Dall porpoises pay us a visit, so there was something novel and fun.
On the upside, I got one of the little Scotty lake troll downriggers and am pimpin the revo for the area 11 opener the Sunday!!Pic is of pal Rob in his Revo.

Thanks for the report KT. I was out last weekend as well and it was a chilly one. BM seem to be keeping a low profile recently. Congrats on the downrigger. What were you guys dragging?

For future reference, on flood tides the locals troll an area several miles south, closer to Kingston (Pilot Pt. -Apple Cove Pt.). No fun if there's a strong wind from the south, though.

PIsco, we considered that, and went around the Point to the south.  A PB was there, they were mooching and marking a few fish but no hookups.
The north wind was coming up, and the incoming flood tide was beginning to run----so it did not seem like a good idea to drift 3-4 miles south, and then have to battle our way back, so we wussed out and fished the north side of the Point to a mile or so west.  Rob was  mooching herring and I was using a 4 ounce jig.
