My buddy and I are planning to make it over the mountains for Thursday sturgeon fishing below Saint Johns Bridge.  Anyone else want to fish?  That's a sick question with this group, I know.

This will be our first time on the Willamette for Great Whites, we have only fished the Columbia so far for sturgeon and look foreward to trying a new spot on Thursday.  ANY suggestions greatly appreciated!

Are you fishing from your kayak or a power boat?

Hi, Brian. We are both fishing from Kayaks and thinking we would arrive at the river by 10am.  I haven't checked a tide table yet.

Does this mean you've fished the Columbia for sturgeon from you kayaks?  How did that go?

Here are the tides for you.

We have fished on the Columbia for Sturgeon in kayaks, below the The Dalles Dam.  There is a nice county boat ramp to use and the  smallmouth bass fishing as you paddle up toward the "shaker hole" is pretty distracting.  We went two weeks ago but didn't catch any.  People definately think your nuts out there.

Thanks for tide table "ask and ye shall receive".

Going to take a pass on Thursday due to weather.  Reports show you guys on the westside may see snow down to the valley floor and a really rainy day.  We will see about the following week, the fresh rain should be a bonus for the fishery though.

This sounds like IDEAL fishing weather, especially from a kayak.
