Halibut rig

With kids my days of halibut from the yak are next to 0. Gaff and a2 buoy are in need of a new home. Pick up in Olympia.

what do you use the a2 bouy for on a halibut rig?

excuse my ignorance.

Float attached to a harpoon head.

Start at about the 2:20 mark . Rudy hits the 'but with a good harpoon shot, but the fish is big enough to take 30+ lbs of flotation under with it.   

You're tiring the fish by adding more drag. And also locating it if it swims away

wow it looks so intense. Halibut is on my bucketlist so this is good to know.
