I'm really wanting to start learning the walleye game!
Conditions look pretty good tomorrow, not sure where we'll launch from yet.
Maybe mouth of Deschutes or Hood, or maybe closer to PDX.
Open invite to all, especially if ya have some experience in the area with this species.
Any info or advice is always very appreciated!
A day without fishing probably wouldn't kill me,
but why risk it?

Blade baits and glide baits are effective. Silver, gold, and purple seemed to be productive colors but I think if you can get anything in front of them they will smack it. Mark them on the bottom and try to hover above. Keeping your line straight up and down is key. Once you start dragging you will lose gear and miss bites. Short jigs about a foot off the bottom.

OK, so we will be launching around 8-8:30 from Le Page, near the mouth of the John Day.
The more the merrier!

I am very interested in catching my first walleye.
Just picked up my first kayak.
I have a lot to learn.

If you are looking to learn how to target walleye, check out Jim's FB page Tricity Kayak Anglers. He tries to have a get together every year in November.
