Reef due west of Haystack rock Cape Kiwanda.

I went to our local metal supply shop today to pick up some materials for building my yak rack over the bed of my Tacoma today.  I chatted with a friend of mine that works there, and we got to talking about kayak fishing the Pacific City area.  He told me about a reef out past Haystack Rock that he would dive and find monster lings at during diving. 

I did a search on the 'ol net to see if I could find some info on it, and sure enough I did.  It might be a bit of a paddle, but may be well worth it.

This is right where the tournament was held last year. There is also a reef running N-S just to the north of Haystack Rock.

It's actually a pretty easy paddle and like SH said a regular haunt @ PC. Pelagic Paddler knows a thing or two about that reef....

PC is a great spot.. easy launch and not to far a paddle to some decent fishing.  The only drawback is it gets fished by the dory guys, so often keeper lings are not as plentiful as other spots.  Probably one of the easiest launches on the north coast, heck you can drive to the surf line.
