Been awhile since I've posted and I've learned quite a bit over the last year kayaking around Puget Sound, but I'm looking for some new safer areas to fish for lingcod or halibut before I move inland this summer and say goodbye to saltwater fishing full-time.
I'm not looking for your spot, but I am looking for generally "safer" areas to launch on the Westside of Puget Sound. I'm looking at heading out somewhere between Port Ludlow and Port Townsend. Maybe Sequim area to get away from the traffic and tide rips around Port Townsend.
I fished all around Hansville...and it rarely felt safe between rips and current.
I have no issue finding my own spots to fish, but I just don't have the time to explore all the dozens of different launch spots in my area.
I've printed off the tide charts for the area for the next couple months, I can judge marine forecasts as go/no-go, and have proper safety equipment.
Thanks,
Sean

Kingston  area is slow is fairly calm and protected.  Just don't get in the Ferry's way. Mostly salmon and dogfish. but there may be some other stuff.
