details are sketchy, but we lost another fisherman

Folks, please follow safety precautions. No fish is worth your life.

I heard there was actually two other surf perch fishermen who also drowned in the last day or two. Maybe a rogue wave or something?

An old salt once told me "The ocean is trying to kill you 100% of the time, either actively, or lulling you into a false sense of security."
A day without fishing probably wouldn't kill me,
but why risk it?

Never turn your “trust” away from the elements, be it the ocean or the weather! I ALWAYS wear my pfd when I’m in the ocean fishing even from the surf! Rest in peace those that are lost. There were 3 total in one day all from shore! Be safe guys we lost enough fishermen this year already!!

    Sadly we've lost another kayaker over the weekend on Hood Canal. Apparently a tandem capsized and only one made it to shore.

Initial reports are that neither were wearing PFD,'s and were wearing cotton sweatshirts and jeans. So not dressed for water temps,  not dressed for immersion, not following safety rules.

The deceased was 21, leaves behind a 1 1/2 year old daughter. His body was found roughly 36 hours post incident.

I read one report that said they were out in the dark, 10pm.
"A venturesome minority will always be eager to get off on their own,
and no obstacle should be placed in their path;
let them take risk, for God sake, let them get lost, sun burnt, stranded, drowned,
eaten by bears, buried alive under avalanches -
that is the right and privilege of any free American."
--Edward Abbey--
