Greetings from Kodiak
Thanks for allowing me to join NWKA! I've recently decided to start kayak fishing because I'm tired of fishing from the beach or paying big bucks for a charter. Starting out small by tricking out and existing Perception Sonoma.  Not the fanciest, but I think it's a good start. Not the fanciest, but I think it's a good start. Mainly targeting nearshore rockfish, lings, pacific cod and salmon but you never know when you are going to run into a halibut here. Have many years kayak experience and fishing from larger boats/the beach, but now need to figure out how to fish from a kayak. Looking forward to being out on the water this season vs staring longingly from the beach.

Hey, my home town!  Welcome to NWKA.

Kodiak has some of the best fishing I've ever experienced.   Its the ideal location to catch 100+ lb halibut in less than 50 feet of water.

Keep us updated on you trips.  I'm looking forward to seeing spots I recognize.  How about some kayak video of running the Buskin.  Did it a few times in a canoe.
