Spring is my favorite time for fishing on Brownlee. The crappie, perch, and bass are anxious to spawn and the catfish are on the hunt. The whole reservoir is alive with action.

Been trying to get enough fillets for the BCS fish taco feed so I've taken 4 trips down to the reservoir. Nothing really big but good size for eating. mostly between 11 and 13 inches on the crappie and 10-12" on the perch.

Ned Rigs and crappie tubes are doing the work but trolling flicker shads would catch fish too. I just don't like dealing with that many hooks. Fish are in 10-15 fow and looking to get on beds soon but the water is rising very quickly so I think they are in a holding pattern right now. Cats will hit anything that moves.  Bass are plentiful but are a pain in the butt when I am looking for crappie. Most are in the 14-17" range. If the weather ever settles and warms up a bit it should be good fishing till it gets unbearably hot.

Gets em while you can.
