I can pretty much set my schedule and would love to join in next week!   Im pretty new to it too, I dont have a anchor system yet...will I need one?

No anchor system needed to troll for Springers.  You'll just need a rod holder, and something to troll of course.  ;D

Hey good, some fishn friends. I will also try to make it out on Monday. I will have to be off the water by around 12:30 though.
What time does everyone plan on getting there?

I believe FishesFromTupperWare will be back in town starting Saturday and looking to fish.  He would certainly qualify as someone who knows the waters.

FishesFromTupperWare, any interest in fishing near the coast on Tuesday or Wednesday? Looks like the weather may be decent.

Remember that nice hole at George Rogers?  We'll this morning myself and 26 power boats decided to fish there.  The guy at Joe's said the sturgeon rally participants would probably not make it up that far.....wrong.  The pressure to represent NWKA was high with all those rally pros breathing down my neck.  Good thing I had my lucky hat on.  I landed two nice shakers but no keepers.  No AOTY points but the 35 incher was a great fight.  I was using unfrozen smelt (fresh is better I hear.)  I also saw quite a few fish landed with smelt and herring.  One boat netted a keeper out of 10 or so I saw caught.  So as the springers move in, don't forget that the sturgeon bite is not too shabby.

Hey I think that's the sturgeon I keep catching.  Glad to hear you had a decent audience.

One of these days I'll catch one that isn't few inches shy of the slot.

I'd like to get some PDX fishing in this week.  Either springers Monday / Tuesday, or maybe sturgeon Friday.  That is unless the ocean calms down ....

Monday sounds good, in fact, it's beautiful right now! The Wilson looks awfully juicy, but I'm sure that's what every other fisherman in the 3 state area is saying. Tuesday on the coast, Friday for keepers,,,,wait, I'm here to pack my house.
(at least that's what my wife said as she took back my fly rod and drove away from the airport.)
Guess I'll have to use the Buzz Ramsey.  ;D

I can attest that the wilson (and the trask for that matter) is in prime shape. There are even some fish around ;D ::)

The weather outside is frightfully delightful and I saw a couple of boats in the Hawthorne merry-go-round.

It's time for an evening tester. I'll try to make it today around 4pm, but tomorrow its most definitely on! Anybody up for some early springer trolling?
