With all the pfd's I've picked up over the years for canoeing, rafting, etc..., I think it will be a while before I buy another (I think I have like 6 in the garage).  But if I were going to buy a new one for fishing, I think I'd go for this one:

I only wish it was available with a bright color option.

I've seen that one in the NRS catalog. is the back high enough to avoid problems with the seat?

Bumping this back up... NRS apparently heard the requests for a brighter version of this vest (for kayakers worrying about being run down by jet skis/power boats) and now makes an orange version.

I got the first one you posted 3wt. I've always been a pocket stuffer, so it works good for me.

It was kinda uncomfortable at first, i guess it took me a while to get it adjusted right and to break in cause its gettin more comfortable. It bugged the heck out of me at first but i hardely notice it now. The back could be an inch higher and it would be perfect for my high back seat.

This is the first PFD i have ever owned so i don't have any comparison to others.

I tried on a number of PFD's today and ordered the Chinook - in bright, visible orange. Since my Big Game is "stealthy" green, I figured as much visibility as I could get in a PFD would be worth it. Full fashion photos to come...

When you get yours in, please post and tell us how you like it.  I'm considering getting one for myself at some point.

Have you had your Big Game out on the water yet?  Our new one is florescent orange tie-die color, and has yet to get wet.

No pics yet but the Chinook PFD fits really well. I went with the bigger size since there is so much adjustability built in. If I lose enough weight that I need a new PFD, I'll be happy to buy the next size down. ;D  I'll be taking the Big Game out to Hagg Lake on Monday...pics to follow.

I'm bringing this back up to the top because I am interested in this pfd. I need to upgrade from the POS "comfort fishing vest" i've been using.

Now that you guys that have this pfd have worn yours for a while, how do you like 'em?

Is there another pfd that you think you'd like better now?

Thanks!
