Either day is good for me. We should try to pick the day with the least amount of wind. Friday's looking the best so far. Sunny, 60 degrees, and wind at 6mph. Have you heard if any are being caught?

GD - good luck with the Umpqua sturgeon.  If you get up in the PDX area let me know and maybe we can fish for sturgeon here.  You can bring some of that AOTY 2009 mojo with you...

haven't heard much. The ODFW report says that winchester bay is picking up. I'll call up there and get some reports next week sometime...

CBY and I will be launching from the Windy bay launch ramp next to the Coast Guard station Friday about 10:30 am. It's looking to be a nice day to try to walk some dinos if anyone want's to join us. It's a beautiful paddle(peddle)!

The sturgeon weren't to be found on Friday. Roy and I couldn't even get a crab to eat our bait. We tried fishing a couple of spots above the No. 12 channel marker. The weather kept changing from calm and flat, to windy with big wind waves. It made for a rocky time on the water. The long paddle was a killer also! Out of the 4 hours we spent on the water, about 1 1/2 hours was spent coming and going.

That is a long pedaddle to get skunked!!

Next time i say we bring some binocs and if we don't see at least 5 boats anchored there we change plan and fish low for whatever may be there.
