Was thumbing through the latest edition of Field and stream to find a double page spread (pg. 20-21) of Howard McKim battling a HE-UUUGE Blue Marlin on his OK P-13. Friggin' awesome to see the kayak fishing exposure in such a big mag.

I got wind of this about a month ago (Ocean Kayak press release stuff).  Glad to hear it came out.

I'm not sure if this is the same image, but here is a link to the photographer's (Jock Bradley) online portfolio.

Here's a Howard vs the Marlin shot..

Lot's of other great yak photos in there as well.

Jock lives in Hood River, I'm hoping to get him out for some NW style kayak fishing one of these days.

It's a different one than that. He's in an orange kayak and the marlin is jumping towards the camera. The marlin in the mag looks to be twice the size as the one online.

Yeah, that'd be great!

ah.. you mean this one.  I hope they don't mind that I post a downgraded version..

Come to think of it, the kayaker on Jock's site might not be Howard McKim.

The yellow yak picture is Matt Moyer and that's a striped marlin.  He hooked that up while Howard was on his blue marlin.

Yep that's the one. All on 20# line... says a lot about what line strength we need.
