Brian,
How big a critter does a landlord have to be to give you a 24 inch bite diameter?

This paper is probably the place to start.  It uses bite circumference and interdental distance in millimeters to calculate shark lengths.  I'll post over at NCKA if no one else has yet.

Someone has some major repairs to do, no to mention some laundry to do.

I just did the math on my ipad and came up with just over 20 ft  based on a 2 in distance between teeth.   When I get a chance, I'll work up the numbers properly and double check things.   The math is a little tricky in that you're actually solving for x and it's log based.
