Hi all,

I found your website, which is great by the way, while i was researching seattle fishing oppurtunities.  I have tossed around the idea of getting into kayak fishing for a couple of years but the timing was never right.  I have spent he last 6 years in Wyoming but my little alumunum boat wont be able to come with me to seattle due to storage issues.  My fiance and i will be moving into a place right across from Magnuson Park in the end of may.  Needless to say we are really excited.

I will most likley scrounge up the money to get a kayak sometime in the next year and my question to you guys is what would be the best bet for me since i am 6'6" and about 255 lbs.  Also are there places to rent kayaks in seattle so i know what im getting into before i buy.  I had a bad experience with a pontoon boat a couple years ago, dang near sunk the thing.

Anyway,  I am a die hard fisherman who is excited about moving backto the Pacific Northwest an if you guys dont mind ill probably lurk around until i get a yak of my own.

Thanks,

Zack

Big guy kayaks ... Ocean Kayak Trident 15, Ocean Kayak Big Game, Malibu X-factor.  I'm sure Zee will chime in on the Hobie lineup.  Not a lot of places in Seattle carry a large selection of demo or rental SOTs.  You won't find Malibus in the greater Seattle area.

REI will be having a demo day on May 30th ... http://www.rei.com/stores/store_event_detail.jsp?pid=BAEDC426AEA81FA0152C07D3A841DDB0&template_id=30&template_family=webDetail&ignore_cache=1

You'll be able to demo Ocean Kayak and Wilderness Systems, not sure about others, but whatever REI carries, they should have there.   And you'll get 15% a kayak purchase.
