How do you store and transport your fish back to shore? Obviously a simple stringer would work for trout, perch, crappie and bass on inland waters. Seems I saw a pick of one of the guys here stashing a slamon in his OK rod pod. What about the rockfish, cabs and lings in the salt? It would sure suck to lose them in a huli on the way in.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.  --Mark Twain

I solved this problem by not doing a huli...and I don't catch anything either  >:(

When I do actually catch something, I use a game clip to secure it and a burlap sack to cool and/or carry it. It just doesn't happen very often.

Seattle Paddle Sports 36" Kayak Catch Cooler packed with refreezable ice packs:

http://www.seattlesportsco.com/productcart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=696&idcategory=69

Keeps fish nice and cool from the moment I pull them out of ther water. Fits under my bungees or has buckle straps and can be buckled in just about anywhere.
Fish are kept cold so I don't have to worry about cleaning them right away.

Up here I use a wet burlap sack (cools be evaporation) and if I have any distance to travel, I slip them inside the hull through a hatch (the best use of the rod pod ;D). In the south (where evaporation works backwards) I use a insulated grocery bag from Sam's Club or Costco <$20  (think big pizza carrier) with freezer packs and/or frozen Gatorade. Nothing better with a little fish slime!

Another vote for the burlap sack. We don't normally get days that are super hot that will spoil your fish. Just make sure to splash the bag every once in a while to keep the evaporation cooling it all off. Cheap and effective... GOOOOD!
