Most of the time I love them for keeping Blue Beauty (Loomis HSR1021C) and Green Beauty (Loomis SAMR1084C) safe. But this day was absent of such adoration..

As I sat anchored in the current slightly swaying back and forth the rod tip danced off the MD pedals and as I set the hook it doubled over going major bendo. It came shooting into the air, a nice keeper dino, that made a healthy splash when it came down. It made a few runs and I let the anchor go. A few more runs and it was time to put it to her. I raised my rod tip pulling her in close dropped the rod tip cranking down when it all came to a screeching halt! :embarassed: The rod leash wrapped around the reel handle and jammed it shut. I whipped the rod tip up to keep the pressure on and struggled to keep the barbless hook in place. I struggled for what seemed like 30 seconds to free the leash when I thought, YOU DIE NOW LEASH!! I grabbed my safety knife and just as I put it to the leash... she unbuttoned... Rod leashes.. oh, how I loathe the... :angryfire:
