Well after getting a couple of killer deals on some Trident 13s, I have been slowly but surely pimping them out. One was an angler, but I added a rod pod to the non angler for storage. These things are awesome. I took them out a dozen times or so, but last weekend was the first weekend I decided it was time to get my line wet. A buddy and I headed up to Barney to investigate since there just hasn't been much said about the place. I ended up catching a nice 16" cutt right out of the gate and then for the next several hours only managed to catch a couple of bullheads. Finally we decided it was time to troll. Since I hadn't cut into the yak yet, I popped my rod into the front scupper and within 50 yards, bam... fish on! A lovely 13-14 inch rainbow! Ended up trolling the rest of the day and caught 20 or so very nice trout... average 12-14 inches, all of them nice and fat!

Headed back up today with my girlfriend and caught a half dozen or so before calling it quits since I wasn't up there to fish. It is catch and release only up there using artificial flys and lures only. I highly suggest going barbless!!!

I did talk to a guy last week who was out in a canoe. Said that he saw the inquiries in this forum about Barney and was afraid the secret would get out. Said the fishing used to be great... fish every cast type of place. I guess ODFW used to stock it every other year when they would stock Hagg, but he wasn't sure if that was happening anymore.

All in all a great trip and I highly recommend it if you guys tire of Hagg. It was very quiet and just a handfull of folks up there. That being said, keep it quiet... too nice of a place to get spoiled.
