I was just reading about the fishing picking up in Astoria and was wondering if anyone was gonna fish it from a yak?  Is it fishable from a yak?

I'm going to be blowing through Oregon the last weekend of the month.  If Astoria is "on" and worth a stop, then I'll fish it on the Saturday.  Probably will head somewhere down the coast to fish Sunday.   Not sure where yet as it all depends on who will lend me a kayak for the day and how far I feel like driving after a morning of dino fishing.  I won't have a kayak with me, but I will have all the necessary fishing gear.

Pole... If you might be interested in some halibut action (or bottomfish/lings for that matter) when you pass though, give me a heads up.  Yaknitup and I have some plans on the front burner ;)

Hopefuly by then I'll be all halibutted out.  I'll be spending the beginning part of that week up in Ketchikan targetting butts and kings.

Seriously though, chances are good it will be somewhere along the coast, although I might try to get a little further south.  Unless someone puts together an O'dell trip for that Sunday.

Thanks for the offer.

I do have a second kayak you can borrow.

I know ... and I was counting on that for the Astoria Dino's.  But after seeing Zee's report, I may just have to go elsewhere.   ;D
