Anyone up for some fishing on Saturday.  I'm up for anything with an emphasis on earning some AOTY points.

Here are some ideas...
Multnomah Channel - Sturgeon, Walleye and/or Smallmouth
Henry Hagg Lake - Smallmouth, Largemouth, Trout, and/or Panfish
Willamette River - Smallmouth and/or Sturgeon
Clackamas River - Summer Steelhead
Astoria -  Sturgeon

There might be an ocean window too, but that window is very short and I prefer more stable conditions.

Don't forget Chinook/Steelhead/Sockeye on the Columbia.

Shallow water spinner trolling or small flatfish on the hook!

Wish I could join you guys but I've got two kids in a soccer tourney which means 8 games this weekend.  Yikes.  I'll keep an eye on your plans in case you are close by and I can squeeze it in.  Catch em up.

What about Monday? Sturgeon only CnR, swells look a bit too big, low tide near Astoria too early but around 8am near PDX.

Best Bet: Columbia coho? Location?

Thanks for the help,
Jay

No Columbia coho quite yet...  Summer Chinook, Steelhead or sockeye

I fished wed and thurs on the columbia for chinook (PB) and got one summer steelhead and saw very little action.  Water level is up.  Wait for the water to drop if you are looking for walleye, I couldn't buy a walleye bite in my usual spots, they are spilling a lot of water right now

I haven't fished the Columbia for salmon before. Any suggestions on where I might get lucky?

Madoc, you seem to be the only one truly interested at this point.  How about Henry Hagg Lake at sunrise (~5:30 am).  Do  you have a preferred launch site?

I'll probably be trying for the mixed bag (lmb, smb, panfish, and trout).

Scratch that regarding Hagg.  I'm still working on a few other ideas.

I might be able to do a late meet (11ish) if anyone is interested in that...

Watch the tides.  There's a lot of water being released.

Camas area (up and down river)
Mouth of the Sandy

all within yak distance from a launch.

Ditto on watching the current. The areas that put out fish are less than safe for anchoring a yak at these water levels. IMO
