This is a great roundup it lacks the brand new Pentax W80 but other than that it has all the major players.

I took a chance and bought a D10 about a month ago and it looks like it did well.  More importantly I love the results I've received with it.

Anyway just thought I'd post this since I'm always in the market for new toys and I'm sure a lot of you are too.

good to hear about the Canon. It looks like a nice cam and my Pentax is slowly crapping out. Care to share any images?

Looks like I'll be buying a WP camera in the next few weeks. Thanks for the links.

Sure I'll post some pics in a little bit. Anything I've posted before is using the D10 extremely compressed though as 4000x3000 is a bit much for the forums.

I looked at the Lumix as my last camera was a Pany with 12x zoom.  What turned me off was the depth rating on the waterproofing.  10feet isn't bad but for snorkeling it's too shallow.  For pure sexiness thought the 8000 is a beauty to look at and hold.  I just read of way too many people having issues with them leaking.  Also it's important to read the fine print.  For the Lumix and Olympus they recommend replacing the seals at the factory every year at a cost of $140 to keep them waterproof.  The Canon was the only model where I couldn't find a single example of it leaking.  And it doesn't require yearly replacement of the seals.

The accessory kit for the D10, while expensive is brilliant and well made.  I highly recommend it.  The ability to clip on at any of the four corners and shear quality and convenience of the straps is excellent

50% Resize Sample Shots.  (I use a 30" monitor so anything smaller looks tiny to me ;-))

Thanks for the pics surfanor. They look nice and clear w/ little distortion and that color that Canon is famous for. I'll probably get another cam in the next 6 months so looking forward to hearing about future performance.

I'm pretty happy the way the PC shots came out considering I had to wipe the saltwater off the lens with my hat lol.  You can still see a bit of haze from the wiping on 114 and 95.  But when you dunk your camera in the surf, twice on the way out, beggars can't be choosers. Ya the color reproduction blows away my old Lumix FZ5.  The only draw back is the 3x zoom and lack of 720p video.
