just had to share!  with pics this time!! my best day of fishing ever!



here's the big 'un


my first King in the Puyallup River! (which i've been fishing religiously for 7 years)  absolutely AWESOME fishing today!  got there at 4:45 and went to town.  after 30 minutes, a chrome bright 6 lb native coho, BONK!  hey, this day is already off to a good start!  then next cast, a pink BONK!, then lost a pink at my feet.  then another pink, BONK!  uh oh!  need to leave some room on my punchcard for the day for that next king or coho that i've been holding out hope for.  then pink, pink, man, my arms are starting to get tired! pink,  oh man, by biceps are burning!  little breather while Raymond does his thing yardin' in a few pinks too!  way to go Ray!  

ok, back at.  pink.  oops, call from the sick girlfriend.  yes honey?  kleenex?  sure you bet.  uh huh, about another half hour or 45 minutes k?  love you too.  kissy wissy smoochie woochie.     whew!  bought myself a little more time!   pink.  c'mon, not much time left!  

aw crap!  a snag!  i'm gonna break off my leader that i just hooked 9 fish on and landed 8!  wait a second, that snag just shook it's head and took off across the river!!  FISH ON!!   damn, it's pullin' hard!  did i foul hook a pink?  whoa!  that's a BIG fin.  KING ON!  15 minutes and a few drag burning runs later, i yard my big fin clipped beauty up on the bank and yell YES!!  just then, my leader broke!  whoa! close one!  broke off at his teeth!  checking out the fish, it had another 1/0 gami barbless stuck it's upper lip that had broken off.  some poor soul lost this beauty earlier downstream.  

hey wait. i, i can't go back to fishing!  i limited!  for the first time ever!  sweet!  so, cleaned the fish and hauled my bounty home.  and no, i didn't forget the kleenex.  got a bottle of Kendal Jackson Chardonay at the store too, to toast well, ME!

final tally: 10 fish hooked, 9 landed.  took home 1 6 lb native coho, 1 23(?) lb king, 2 pinks.  tight lines all!
