Check out the detail of the new Ocean Kayak Torque on this "sell Sheet".  This is what will be hanging on the boats in stores soon. Download the PDF listed below.

Cheers!

Are they only making this in the wheat color?  Given the low volume, they're probably keeping costs down by doing a single color run but it would have been cool to see some different color combos.

no, not wheat, ( which i look at as babys**t brown after seeing it) but sand and yellow... hopefully if it takes off as wildly as the T13's did, they'd offer more colors...

Yes, Yellow and Tan only ... and you never know about other color options in the future.  OK has tried Blue, Olive, and Wheat for Angler models, all with limited success.  Yellow seems to always win (visibility) and tan is a good compromise for those who want to "blend in" but it's not the dark (hot) olive green that the hunters sometimes want.

At least there is a yellow option   If they could figure it out, I'd love to a see a few real patterns (firetiger, scales, or even custom would be awesome, for a nominal fee).  If they can mould in the OK logo and name, I don't see why they couldn't do something similar to the whole yak :dontknow:

Good luck on the full boat graphic Yar!  As I understand it, the graphics you see on a T13 are roughly $6-8/boat ... that means full boat graphics ... well, current graphics cover roughly 2% of the boat, you do the math ... something like $300-400/boat in graphics!  Not likely but good wishful thinking anyway!!  I'll be looking for the full boat Tiger Shark graphics on your boat soon ... write often and send photos!

The camo was apparently too difficult to make look good and there were too many blems per good boat built ... so I' don't think you'll see the camo come back ... but you never know.

You'll see Yellow and Sand for all of the Angler models for 2010.  I'll pass on the idea of Lime for Angler models, I think that's a good suggestion .... visible yet outdoorsy!

Cheers, jim

Are the OK graphics done pre- or post-mold release?  I've been trying to figure out how they do it ever since I bought mine...

Too bad about the camo...

The graphics are made of Polyethelene and are put into the mold before the plastic powder goes in.  You'll notice a tiny nubbin on your boat at each end of every graphic.  These are to help the guys in the factory align the graphics correctly every time.  Once the plastic goes in and the oven in fired, the plastic melts and slurries around the mold, the graphics permanently bond to the polyethelene in the boat.  So, the result is graphics which are part of the actual hull, not a sticker.  In case you haven't noticed, sometimes it's tough to get stickers to stay on polyethelene for long ... though 3M seems to be doing a great job with adhesives these days.   Hope that fills the holes in your understanding.

Cheers, jim
