Howdy all,

I was wondering if anyone would be down for a scouting trip to Depoe bay early friday morning?  I want to figure out the launch and general layout of the area, as well as putting in some time for groundfish and maybe some coho.

I figure trying for a 6 or 7 am launch time.

Okay, no takers, I'm not driving all the way down to Depoe for a day trip by myself. :(

What I am going to do is hit up PC again.  I plan on getting down there around 730-8am, I'm gonna stop in Netarts on the way down to drop a crab pot.

High tide is going to be around 8 am, so it looks like the day will start right around slack tide, and i plan on staying out past low tide (noon thirty) and come in about 2pm.

If anyone is game, I'll be on the north end of the line of Dories.  Look for an Orange Honda Element.

Cheers,
Madoc

Why not save the trip to Netarts and just drop your crab pot in the ocean?   Put it somewhere out of the Dory boat lane.

I was thinking of that, but the trap that I have doesn't fold up, and I have no desire to have that as an added thing that may whack me in the head if I huli.  Plus, with everything else onboard, there isn't room (need the footwell area for the mirage drive).

I did just pick up a folding ring, I might pack that along.

I would like to, but next week is booked - GF is back in town, friends in from out of town, oh the pain of a social life. ;)

Madoc,

Sorry I didn't chime in sooner. Been down all week with that back problem. Hopefully I'll be mobile next week.

Can you ping me that info on your acupuncture friend here in Newport?  I misplaced it during my move.

Thanks. Greg
