When flyfishing stillwaters I often fish a technique that requires the boat to not move with the changing breeze directions.  In a row boat you just throw an anchor out the back and one out the front.

Has anyone set up a bow and stern anchor system on a kayak?   The anchor trolley system for one anchor is common, anyone try it with 2?

This is something I've been thinking about for costal river drift fishing this Fall.  Some of the places I like to anchor are large eddys that send you on a merry-go-round ride.

I'd have my 10lb pyramid on the back and was thinking about a 3 lb ball on an anchor trolley for the front.

Spot and I seem to be thinking similarly... you're looking at setting up trolleys on both sides to send anchors on either end (much easier, i think, than trying to run two anchors on one trolley), or running a scotty anchor setup on either the bow or stern, and a trolley to the the other end...

Decisions, Decisions...

Yeah, the two anchors on one trolley seemed like it would have inherent problems.

The way I've done this in the past is to have the anchor line to windward with a normal amount of scope and the anchor on the lee side go almost straight down.  Seemed to work ok.  I might be able to just toss the second anchor and not worry about a trolley.

Time to go experiment.

Why not just put two opposing rings on the anchor trolley?  True, one will be above the pulley and one below.
