Saw this today at Freddies.  Looks like a nice low profile hardside cooler that would fit in the tank well of most angler kayaks.  Flat surface on top, so you could possibly add lashing bungees on the lid for light stuff.

Probably wouldn't work as well for ocean fish, but for the smaller fresh water species it might.  Or just a cooler for hauling around beer!

Here's some chica's next to it to give you a size scale.

Nice find. I like a cooler for trout/perch fishing as it can get hot.

A real fav. of mine recently has been the KatchKooler. It works from shrimp to salmon and since it's soft it can be jammed in a hatch if needed. And best of all it's cheap! $15 @ Outdoor Emporium.

Must have waited too long.  >:(  I saw they are now listed at $20.97 on their website.  Luckily Ted's Sport Center in Lynnwood had some for $15.97. I did see while checking Outdoor Emporium's/Sportco's flyer that it does have what looks like the Scotty 1050 Depthmaster Compact Manual downrigger on sale for $112.88.  That's the cheapest I've found so far. Might be time for me to break down and buy one to add to my yak. Also in the same flyer are the Danco Humpy jig kits for $6.48.  There's 10 of them in a kit and most of the time when I can find them in stock, they're $10/kit.  They're my fav for fishing the Sno.  Very effective yet you don't feel so bad when you lose one to a snag.

I believe they're $15 in-store only.

Thanks Zee.  If the one I bought works out, I'll get another one as a spare.   :)  Already seem less cumbersome than a rigid cooler.

Are these catch coolers pokey fin resistant?   Also, are they sealed completely on 3 sides making them mostly waterproof?

FWIW, the bags I picked up from Bi-mart and have been using do a good job of holding my catch, as well as keeping them cool, however they are dieing a slow death with the fin punctures.  The insulation is starting to get the fish funk in it now, and is harder to get clean.   :-\

At least they were cheap ($8 each).

I have one of the Katch Koolers and they are sealed along 3 sides with the other long side being a full length zipper.  They have an internal full length and width fabric divider making them into 2 independent sides, like two envelopes laying on top of each other.  Put cracked ice on one side and fish on the other.  The fabric seems pretty tough.

I had 6 black rock fish and 2 lings in one (about 60#'s) and it's none the worse for wear.
