Three pinks in the boat (4 to 5Lb range, very bright). Launched from the North end of the beach about 7am this morning. It was kind of slow to start as all the PBer's were fishing deep looking for Chinook.

I tried trolling for Coho (plug cut herring) for my first hour or so but soon switched to my Humpy killer and spinner gear. Once they heard my spinning reel whining one after the other and saw how much fun I was having fighting these guys I soon had all the PBer's watching and following me around.

This has turned into a very steady pink fishery this season, not only for me but for the sealions too. I watched one this morning attack a salmon in shallow water. This is quite impressive to watch but not too closely.

The gear is a 9ft spinning rod and reel (15 lb test) I used to fish from shore before I got the yak. The tackle is a 2-1/2" hot pink buzz bomb with a 1/0 bright silver hook. I needed to slightly bend the eye of the hook to lay at a 45deg angle from the base of the buzz bomb.

I was sight fishing mostly yesterday (b/c I don't use a FF) The fish either jump or are making swirls on the surface. The migration pattern is East to West so once spotted I would cast West of the action.
A slow retrieve a slight pump, they usually hit once the lure slows or stops.

At one point I got a hit close to the boat and watched my lure as it stopped, 8 fish took turns attacking the lure.
