My girlfriend and I went fishing for about 3 hours at the bridge on Old Nisqually road Saturday.  There were fish jumping EVERYWHERE and constantly.  I saw two kings get pulled in, and that was it.  The river was teaming with fish, they just weren't biting.

Combat fishing on the Puyallup yesterday landed 5 pinks between the two of us.  One of them was huge.  Damn thing was over 20" long (larger than my skinning board)

Oh almost forgot - I really need some waders.  Anyone know about a good deal on some anywhere?

check wal-mart..they have some decent ones for around 40-50 dollar price range.. or if you want to look at the better ones. .Sportco, Wholesale Sports (formerly Sportsmans Warehouse) has some really nice ones and there alot less then our friendly cabellas..

I'm out of town till the 23rd but would be good for some fishing the following week. 26th and 27th best bets for a get together if anyone is interested.  Yaks or on foot, fresh water or salt, I'm up for something south sound-ish.  Chris

The 27th should work for me. You may have to get started with out me, but I shouldn't be far behind. I am game for about anything. I hear the pinks @ Brown's point are getting thicker by the day. I have also heard good things about kings staging near the Nisqually prepping for the push up river.

I'm glad someone else has experienced what I'm talking about. If you want, let me know next time you are heading out that way. If I can get away to fish for a few, I'll show you how/where I have been beating the crowds.

The best deals I have found on waders has been at wholesale sports (sportsman's warehouse). I really would like another set myself. The ones I use are my 5 mil neoprene camo boot foot duck waders. I would really like to get a pair of 3 mil or lighter stocking foot waders.

I probably won't make it until sometime after 0700, but I am game for that.

Have you actually been catching things in the Nisqually?  If you have, I'd be willing to drag my GF and our brady bunch (4 kids!) down there this weekend, otherwise I'll stick to the Puyallup.  They bite pretty regular in that river.

No fish in the Nis for me yet. I have had the same luck you had. Lots of fish with no hook ups. I'll be sure to report if and when that changes.

It's pretty much guaranteed that I'll be going to the Puyallup the 29th and 30th.  My GF has been hitting it whenever she has a chance and has hit her 4 pink limit 3 times since the river opened on Sunday.

If anyone goes there, do NOT park anywhere near the defunct weigh station with the "no parking tow-away zone" signs.  I spent the better part of 6 hours helping her get her car back from Herb's Towing yesterday...
