Lost fish on BuzzBombs

Would a long Loomis pole make up for the stretch lost if you use braid line? 

Sure.  And it would be a lot of fun too.  Something like a 10.5' float rod?

Yeah, something like that.  I'm tempted to pick one up after work.  I've never used a rod that long, are they susceptible to snapping?  Can I land a big Chinook on something like that.  They seem so fragile!

BTW, you've mentioned the 2 1/2 inch buzzbomb.  Try a 2 inch one, which I believe is the smallest you can get.  I've used both and found the smallest ones to be better.

As the schools get tighter, closer to heading upstream, and a little more lockjaw, you may want to change your tactics to a more finesse presentation.  1/4 ounce bright pink mirabou jigs  ... twitched through/around the schools or sometimes on a slow steady retrieve.  Or even break out the fly rod ... I've found some situations where a bringht pink fly on the bug wand outfishes anything else.

You know ... I have a Lamiglas Certified Pro X10MS.  It's rated for 8-12 pound line.  I love this rod for chum fishing and I've even broke it out at Moutcha Bay for kings up to 29#.  I must say it's a bit light for kings that large, but not too bad.  Remember that off of a kayak you have little more flexibility than you do fishing from a large boat because you also drag yourself to the fish.  A rod like this cast light stuff great and is a ton of fun.  I would expect it to be pretty darn good for pink fishing.

allen...... your right about the fly rods.  the other weekend at browns Point all the fly fisherman were limiting out fast with there bright pink flies. Radvakot and Tom B were doing it on some flies that Fly_tyer369 had tied for radvakot. and were nail the pinks. i was trolling with a silver and pink doger with 4 oz of weight and a pink hoochy and couldnt get nothing. went to a Pink buzzbomb caught my flounder but skunked on everything else.
