Woke up tired and kinda sore from this weekend but still drug myself out of bed, gathered up my gear and launched at Charleston to do a little top water trolling for Coho.

Did a few passes with a wiggle wort running a few feet under with no results so i switched to a 5 inch jointed Rap floater that ran right on the surface. The second pass the lure got slammed and then major splashing, wish i could have seen it, sounded like a  very visual strike. A couple of short runs with some tail dancing later i netted this beauty 26.25 inch Silver, fun little fish and will be yummy of the smoker.

That's the only way to cap of a great weekend.... 8)

Oh yea, She had eggs, what's a good way to cure these for steelhead bait?

Tomorrow i try for the double down, Coho and Chinook.

Nicely Done Roy!!!!

Way to represent your new team!  Were you wearing your new Hobie shades when you hooked up?

How fast were you trolling the Rap?

As for the eggs, I usually use pro-cure.  I split the skiens down the middle, sprinkle liberally with cure and toss them in a jar (In the fridge).  They'll milk out for the 1st day or 2 and then re-absorb the moisture and color.
Make sure you don't cure or store them in metal containers.

Nice job Roy.

bluknight.. in case you missed it, the ocean conditions were less than favorable so the tournament became a trout/bass tournament at a nearby reservoir.

Here's the report..

Team Hobie representin'......  8) Yes i was wearing my fantastic Hobie polarized sunglasses with Hydroreflective™ polarized lens. It's like seeing for the very first time!! :-*  ;)

I was trolling against the flood at about 1 mile an hour, a little faster when trolling the rap  and with the flood at 1.8 or so
See ya on the water..

Bsteves - unfortunately work did not cooperate to allow me to play along.  Thank you for the thread.  Always nice to see what is going on when you can't get out.
