river Sturgeon Rod!

With sturgeon retention starting back up next Thursday (oct 1st!), I thought I might see what you're guys' thoughts on a good yak sturgeon rod would be.  I've been kinda figuring my backbounce rod (cheap Okuma Celilio, 7.5' 1pc, 1-8oz, Med-Heavy) would be about ideal, with my "i'll snap if you try to look at me" back up steelhead rod a close second (Abu salmon rod, 8.5' 2pc, <1.5oz, Med-Heavy).  There is an over-the-top Eagle Claw Ocean Claw rod that is likely way too overkill.  Most of my fishing is done at a favorite hole that's over 100' in depth. I'm going up there tomorrow to give the area a look over and to see how my anchor will hold (i'll probably need more anchor line.  I'm at 150' now, but think i can find a shallower spot <45' and drift into the right area from there)

Thoughts on what to look for in a good sturgeon rod?

Mmmm ... sturgeon.  Zee, when are you going to hit up the local sturgeon fishery with the pink salmon carcass pushout?  Should be turning on soon.

I've got a couple of old fiberglass rods, cheap. They aren't pretty but they work great.

Rod shopping is fun, but if your not looking for a reason to get a new pole that Okuma should be just about perfect.

I second that, the Celilo should be fine for the job.  What your reel? Good to go?

i've got a copule to choose from, Abu 5600 C3 (most likely choice) and a similar Daiwa levelwind.  Suppose i just wanted to make sure i could pull one up appropriately
