Your downrigger ball.

If you have your downrigger ball out of the water, on your deck, and you're fumbling with the line for some reason (be it a knot or attaching tackle, etc.) be sure that the dowrigger ball is SECURE, and won't fall over the side.

If your finger gets caught in that line, it doesn't feel good when the ball slides over and you can't get it out quickly. :-\

From now on I'll have enough line out to turn back around in my seat and fumble with the weight and tackle in my lap.
