Back trolling is pretty simple. It's a river fishing technique where you paddle upstream to keep yourself sitting still and then let out a plug like a Kwikfish or HotShot. Pedaling a Hobie helps a ton. Then once you have your line out you slowly back the plugs into where the fish are holding. If you're lucky you'll piss one off and it will strike.
