It looks like you just had a drop or two of water on the lens when you were shooting. I've had that happen too many times!  ::) I've now got into the habit of checking the lens every once in a while and keep a small towel somewhere where it's dry so that I can wipe off the lens if there are some drops on it. Nice pics though aside from that!

you're using a digital , right??
possibly the CCD was having temperature issues.

Yup, I was. I'm saying water droplets. Those little buggers have ruined a lot of would-be great pics for me. And that's what they look like.

I'm gonna start carrying something to wipe the lens with. Also going to strap everything down before making any more surf exits.

Oh yea water on the outside of the lens has ruined some shots for me too. Sorry I thought you meant the haze was on the inside of the lens. I carry a little piece of soft cotton in my pfd to wipe the lens with. You guys are animals to be fishing in that cold and then doing a capsize? WOW! I have had some spills in the surf down here but not in freezing temps. Thats gotta hurt.

Yeah, it was pretty cold. But by the time came for us to go through the surf on our way back in, it had warmed up a little bit(probably into the low 30's ::) ) and the wind had died down. I had worked up a little heat paddling in so if I was to spill it would feel nice to take a swim. I was in my dry top and neoprene waders. I was thrown off my yak and was hopping around in chest high water. When I went to take off my dry top I was bone dry underneath with the exception of some sweat. Worked great!

yeh, inside the lens is why i was thinking that the CCD might have been having temp issues. had that happen to my F909 some years back.

Usually the CCD can handle the temps.  It's the LCD display that will have problems first.

And yes, I'm going with water drops on this one.
