We went out for a paddle in the Nisqually Flats and a guy and his wife just happened to launch to kayak fish at the same time as us.  He noticed the outriggers that I made for my G/F SOT Venus 11.  So I thought I would post what I did on here and see if it helps anyone out.

Materials
1/2" pvc about 3ft long
3/4" pvc about 6ft long
two 45 degree 3/4" pvc fittings
two 3/4" to 1/2" pvc fittings
two 90 degree 1/2" pvc fittings
two 1/2" pvc caps
pvc cement
two metal plates approx 2" X 1/2" with two holes at either end of them
two bolts long enough to go through the 3/4" pvc and the metal plate
four washers if you want
and two nuts for the bolts
2 crab pot buoy

So what I did was mount the metal plates on the bungee buttons in the well behind the seat then used about a 4' piece of 3/4" pvc as the cross member and assembled as seen in the pic.  EXCEPT we found out that you only need two buoys one for each side 4 was over kill and more drag. Also in the first pic I made two lengths for the cross member and found out that the short one is more then adequate.  OH yeah almost forgot I glued everything except the connection from the 45 degree angle fitting and the arm going to the buoys that way I can just leave the cross member on during transport but can take off the arms.

I will update with new pics of the final set up soon

I thought about going that route but I was thinking more of the "Hawaiian Style" single outrigger that you could use as a storage space with your kayak which would make it a "Kayakamaran" type of thing. You know, like the one that comes with that solar panel. I wonder if Cobra kayaks would pay me royalties for designing one... Hmmmm...

You should paint it up like a Klingon Bird of Prey.
