After trying one out last summer and doing lots of online reading about the Revolution, I am finally ordering one on Monday. My dealer is unfortunately going out of business in a couple of weeks but the silver lining is he has lots of gear on at a good price. I have got lots of actual fishing gear but I am looking for advice on the necessities for   kayak fishing on the saltchuck.
Here is what I already have: Hobie Trax cart, turbo fins, 2 Scotty flush mtd rod holders, hobie sail, Scotty sea light. As far as electronics go I am thinking Lowrance M68 (I have a Lowrance on my power boat so will be able to use the chip) and some kind of handheld VHF.(haven't looked into the radio yet) I have an ancient manual Scotty downrigger which would be good (I hope) for the kayak. What else do you think I need? I'm guessing leashes, storage and??
Thanks for the input.

Welcome and Congrats on the new boat!!!  You won't be sorry, Revo is da bomb.   Who's the dealer, BTW----and did you get a price break on the boat?
there's a couple  guys considering a Revo, might be the straw that tips the bale.

I use a little waterproof floating Garmin VHF, has 5 watts power, important to make sure it fits your PFD pocket (you didn't mention PFD, that's the most important item you will take along).  Expect to pay about $150-200 for a good handheld VHF.

You'll want some sort of crate-like gizmo to hold your tackle box, spare rod etc...I think there's a thread called "pimping your yak"  that has good info to get you started.   Where are you located, BTW???  Might want to fill out your profile, select an avatar photo, etc..

Sail rudder for sure.
Dealer may have a good anchor trolley system.
Had a professional boat shop drill the hole successfully for my Ritchie panel mount compass in my Revo.
Hobie Kayak cart "Post Collar Clamp Kit"
Looks to me like the Pedal Pad Kit would be worthwhile
Some of the Mirage users have the Live Bait tank as their crate
Have found the Kayak Rigging Kit useful
Also the Miragedrive stow bag is useful

Thanks for the info. I forgot to mention that I do have a good paddling pfd, as I do some surf kayaking here on Vancouver Island. The dealer is Coastal Cycle and Watersports in Victoria. Craig is selling his shop to a guy who does not want to keep the kayak side of the business going. Short term it's good for me to get deals on the going out of business sale but I would prefer to support someone local and be able to access the advice on an ongoing basis. He didn't have a revo in stock so I can't get any kind of a break on the boat price as he has to order it in for me. He does have a new sand coloured Outback at the store he will sell for $1700 US, if anyone is interested. Tel is 250 391-2601--.

dont forget your safety gear. items  such as bilge pump, flares, a mirror for flashing/signaling, a good handheld light, 1st aid kit that covers both fishing and kayaking,  and a few dry bags of different sizes for sundries..

thinking, another good investment might be an assortment of different sized strips of SOLAS tape....could sew them onto the pfd, articles of clothing, ..if you can find "paddle reflectors" versions of SOLAS, which are actually stick on, grab a few of them too. they make themselves very useful, limited only by your imagination,. and the legalities where you live.
